Nucleus is the leading independent integrated supply chain solutions group in Southern Africa and understands that this concept focuses on working together with the client on transformation efficiencies, redesigning not only the supply chain but where appropriate the overall business process and internal organisation.
Nucleus as an entity was launched in 2005. The company is not new to the Southern African logistics industry. In 1999 it was a founding entity in the listed DNA Supply Chains and prior to that was known as SMG Management Services.
The group’s founders – Patrick Murphy | Mark Renney | Peter Jenkins | Stephen Conradie – are all well versed in the area of logistics and supply chain management. Stephen Conradie founded XPS, one of the largest express freight companies in South Africa.
In 1996, together with his other founding partners, Stephen realised the need in South Africa for a supply chain and logistics management business that was independent, asset-free and intellectual capital-driven, and subsequently founded the Services Management Group (SMG). As part of SMG the Nucleus management team is largely credited with establishing the industry in South Africa.
At Nucleus Supply Chains Group we know that collaborative, strategic partnerships are essential to making the necessary advances to solve the challenges facing today’s supply chains.
Successfully implementing a strong 4PL and integrated supply chain model is the cornerstone of long-term relationships.
